Author Guidelines

Journal of Law and Society Review (JLSR) welcomes high-quality, original manuscripts that contribute to interdisciplinary socio-legal scholarship. Authors are required to follow the guidelines below to ensure consistency, academic rigor, and international publication standards.


1. General Requirements

  • Manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere.
  • Submissions should be written in clear, academic English.
  • The journal uses a double-blind peer review process.
  • Authors must ensure their manuscripts are free from plagiarism (max. similarity ≤ 20%).

2. Manuscript Types

JLSR accepts the following types of submissions:

  • Research Articles (6,000 – 10,000 words)
  • Review Articles (7,000 – 12,000 words)
  • Short Communications (3,000 – 5,000 words)

3. Manuscript Structure

  • Title (concise, max. 15 words)

4. Formatting Guidelines

  • File format: Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx)
  • Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt
  • Spacing: 1.5 line spacing
  • Margins: 2.5 cm (all sides)
  • Page numbers: bottom center
  • Use heading hierarchy (Heading 1, 2, 3)

5. Citation and References

  • Use APA Style (7th Edition)
  • Minimum 20 references (≥ 70% from international journals)
  • Prefer sources from the last 5–10 years
  • Use reference management tools (e.g., Mendeley, Zotero)

6. Tables and Figures

  • Must be numbered and titled
  • Include source (if applicable)
  • High-resolution images (min. 300 dpi)
  • Place within the text (not at the end only)

7. Ethical Considerations

  • Authors must comply with publication ethics standards (COPE-based)
  • Avoid plagiarism, data fabrication, and falsification
  • Declare any conflicts of interest
  • Provide ethical clearance (if applicable)

8. Submission Process

  • Manuscripts must be submitted via the journal’s OJS platform
  • Ensure all metadata (title, abstract, keywords) are filled correctly
  • Upload:
    • Main manuscript (anonymous)

    • Supplementary files (if any)

9. Review and Publication Process

  • Initial editorial screening
  • Double-blind peer review (2–3 reviewers)
  • Decision: Accept / Minor Revision / Major Revision / Reject
  • Estimated review time: 4–8 weeks
